Passion projects are important. I’m focusing on a few this year, that I hope help me expand on my creativity and happiness. One is a series my mom suggested starting on family recipes.
This is our first episode and it’s about homemade Italian meatballs, following restrictions from the Specific Carbohydrate Diet. Not only is my mom, Jo Ann, a genius cook, but she is also a healer in the kitchen. She has continually used food to cure ailments and medical conditions. It’s something I’ve witnessed, otherwise I might not believe it to be true.
In this episode of Wooden Spoons, she takes a recipe from her ancestors and alters it to this diet. And trust me, you can’t tell the difference — in fact, they taste even better.
